My name is John Halpern, and I’m one of the trustees of ‘A Leg To Stand, a Hand to Feed’.
A fellow trustee shared about how she had met the group many years ago, and their desperate need. I just wanted to help.
I am 53, married with a young son, and we live in Brighton. We love travel, camping, playing in the park, going to the football (when we can) and seeing friends. We have all we need, really. Others aren’t so lucky.
I write crosswords for various UK national newspapers, including The Times, Telegraph and Guardian. It’s a great job, but I’d always felt there was something more I could do in the world - and this really lifts me, to be involved in A Leg to Stand, seeing extraordinarily dignified people deal so magnificently with very difficult circumstances.
