Operation G.O.A.T

In early Feb 22, we chose 6 goats with our community, using the funds raised at the Hillcrest cinema and Asian food night back in December. The community were thrilled to meet their new herd, everyone crammed into a Tuk Tuk to reach the village where the goats will be kept (about 10km away from the compound). The goats cannot be kept in the same complex with our community, as they would eat all of the vegetables they are growing locally, and the space is not sufficient for livestock. Our solution to keeping the herd was to put them under the care of a local herder, who will take the goats to graze in the hills with his/her own flock. Our community will then check on the goats and how they are getting on every month, bringing medicine and food supplements when they need them.
Repairing Monsoon Damage
At the start of July 2022 the region experienced a severe Monsoon. Our organisation immediately sprang into action helping to fund the reconstruction of sections of the colony, damaged by the storm. So far our efforts have led to the reconstruction of several houses damaged by falling trees.
